I've never hidden my obsession for Texas A&M. My husband, brother, cousins, and best friends all don that Aggie ring, and ever since I was a proud student at SFA, I dreamed of some day also getting that brilliant piece of gold, (possibly dunking it), and joining what I think is the best cult in Texas. SUE ME.
I had to make a hard decision over the last couple months. Hard for me at least. With other factors playing into it, I've chosen to get my masters and am currently attending the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston as a part of the Nurse Practitioner Program.
I had to turn down A&M.
It's true. Sometimes life doesn't give you what you want; life gives you just what you may need. I won't be an Aggie, and that hurts. It definitely stings a bit. But, I know that I have an opportunity to advance my practice and further my education.
I want to help people. I want to make a difference. I want to get out of my comfort zone. I want to BE all that I can.
I guess that starts with being a Longhorn.
P.S. Disclaimer: to avoid sounding completely ungrateful because that's certainly not the case, I consider myself incredibly blessed to have this opportunity where most people don't. I'll never take that for granted. I simply wanted to express my feelings on a platform that belongs solely to me and all you goofballs who continue to listen. Thank a billion :)
