I won't pretend I am this prolific writer that is bound to make a difference in every pair of eyes that happen to come across this page. Actually, I really enjoyed the fact that I could even find a site that made it so simple to write whatever I please. Although, I will go on record and say that I am not very good at it. I don't exactly put thoughts together very easily. I'm the girl that has so many thoughts floating around in her head, and when she attempts to verbalize her opinions, she stutters and stumbles over her words. This is often followed by a very apologetic statement saying I can't help it and then a refusal to make an additional attempt.
But hey. I am exhilarated by the opportunity to put my thoughts and opinions onto paper. A trainer once told me and my team to "get comfortable being uncomfortable." A simple statement, right? Despite it's simplicity, I've come to love this phrase. How often do we let the unknown, whatever that may be, dictate our actions? I still do it all the time. We don't try the Ceviche because we aren't sure how good it will be. We can't attempt that workout because we would surely die before we finish. We shouldn't say what we are truly thinking because it might hurt someone's feelings. With all this, though, we never stop to think about the positives that may come from doing anything completely uncomfortable to us. Ceviche might blow your mind with it's deliciousness. After completing that workout, you might have this new sense of accomplishment, and now you are determined for a more healthier life. And you might realize that what you have to say might be the next big revelation that would otherwise remain hidden in the back of our minds.
So here I am, just a young lady, putting myself in a very uncomfortable position. Because hey...you only have one chance to make your life live up to the dreams you've fantasized about. So GET COMFORTABLE BEING UNCOMFORTABLE. Maybe you might surprise yourself.
