Michael Bublé ended his United States tour last night in Austin, Texas. It was his 127th show of his To Be Loved Tour, and boy was he shown the love. This man is the perfect entertainer; he's much more than a exceptional singer and performer. He's a comedian that connects with his audience throughout the entire show. He engages the audience and makes sure you are never bored. You will never get tired. In fact, you'll be apart of the hundreds of people up on their feet dancing to Sway or Come Dance With Me. He cracks jokes and calls his band "sex machines" that can change his "6 inch subway sandwich into a footlong." You name it and this man can do it. His impersonations are top notch. He even called two extremely lucky college girls on stage after reading their signs "These floor seats and college tuition put us in debt!" then proceeded to reimburse them for the cost!
Having the opportunity to see this show a second time allowed me to fall head over heals for him that much more (if that's even possible!) Among the songs that he sang, my favorites included Crazy Love, Everything, Haven't Met you Yet, Who's Lovin You, and Moondance. When the tune to Get Lucky began, he had us all on our feet as he strolled towards the back of the auditorium onto the stage with Naturally 7. He kept us there as he dance with us to several more of his classics, and he continued as heart shaped confetti fell from the ceiling while he strolled through the audience once more to The Beatles' All You Need Is Love. He bid us farewell with his newest hit It's A Beautiful Day, but couldn't hide from us too long as he reentered the screaming auditorium with a new coat singing Cry Me A River. The most heart-felt moment of the evening came soon after as he truly closed out the concert. A Song For You started soft and meaningful, and if possible, ended even more so as he went sans microphone and instrumentals. We stood silent to hear this talented man poor his entire heart into the final ballad of the night. It was nothing short of beautiful.
Very classy Mr. Bublé.
Very classy Mr. Bublé.
MB definitely did not disappoint, but the best part about it would be that I had the opportunity to share it with my mom. She doesn't share my crazy, almost psychotic, obsession over Mr. Bublé, but she really loves his music. She sang along to the covers of the Beatles and Elvis Presley, and I saw her bust out a few dance moves in the process. Prior to that, we spent the entire day traveling around Austin, embracing it weirdness, and indulging in its culture with me as her personal tour guide. I enjoyed every minute of it. Ending with this concert was the cherry on top of an extremely delicious cake.
Thank you to my mom for a wonderful day and a big thanks to Michael Bublé for a most memorable night!
