With less than a week left until my last semester begins, there is only so much time left to read all the books I've purchased not only this summer but in years past. It's unfortunate how quickly time flies, or rather, how we carelessly let it slip by. I've not been able to finish nearly as many books as I have on my bookshelf, and the books seem to mock me every time I choose Netflix over the paperback.
It just so happens that the other day, I walked into Barnes and Noble because I wanted a retreat from the confines of my boring household and an escape from the many thoughts that seem to be drowning my mind lately. The smell of a new book excites me and that's partly the reason why I buy numerous books at once and then run out of time before I can read them.
This day in particular, though, I decided to plant myself down at the Starbucks and read through the very popular Humans of New York. I've been contemplating buying this for many weeks now, but I saved myself the money and enjoyed a very tranquil afternoon flipping the pages of this book with a great idea. It only fueled my New York fascination that much more.
