On Tuesday, I fly out to Spain. To say I'm overly anxious would be an understatement. There have been countless hours spent deciding what exactly will take up my carry on. Yes, I'm attempting to pack everything I need for two weeks into what seems like a miniature backpack. In fact, it is quite large, and I've done an exceptional job if I do say so myself. This was no easy task though. I found it difficult to say no to my cute sandals, those coral shorts, and my new jewelry, but after reading many a blog, I quickly realized I didn't need too much and that packing cubes are a life savor.
Besides my luggage giving me a little bit of anxiety (and the thought of me losing my passport), I'm very excited for this adventure. I haven't been outside of the U.S or Mexico, so this will be a completely different world. The little town I'll be staying in is right on the coast, and I'm told the scenery is breathtaking. My handy dandy journal will travel with me everywhere I go as will my GoPro and camera. Since I'll have quite a bit of down time initially, I hope to have pages and pages of stories that I can't wait to share with you once I'm back. Don't laugh at my naivety though! I'm sure I will learn new things there that will make everyone question the presence of my common sense, but hey, what can I say? I'm a newb at world traveling.
Hopefully I come back speaking nothing but perfect spanish! I know if there is only one hope for my parents, it's that I return on the 16th with a very energetic "¡estoy en casa y me he traído regalos!"
Fingers crossed!
