So here are a few of my favorites:
Ever seen that one I Love Lucy episode where Lucy and Desi are dancing as Desi sings ever so romantically to his sweet wife? Well you should. One day I'll emulate this; mark my words.
Unforgettable -Nat King Cole
I went to a wedding my senior year of high school where the bride and father danced to this song. Ever since, I have dreamed it would be my father-daughter dance. I've gotten some criticism, however, and possibly enough that I've decided to go a MB route. Nevertheless, I get giddy inside when I hear Mr. Cole sing it with his daughter.
Beyond the Sea -Kevin Spacey
This song popped up on my MB station years ago, and I've heard many renditions, but Kevin Spacey sings it the best in my opinion. In fact, I really do need to see the movie. I'd probably love it.
Let's Call The Whole Thing Off -Ella Fitzgerald & Louis Armstrong
Let's call the calling off off. Damn lets just call the whole thing off. How catchy is that??
I Won't Dance -Frank Sinatra & Count Basie
Another Sinatra song. A classic and that's really why I love it so much.
The Way You Look Tonight -Maroon 5
Maroon 5 happens to be one of my top 3 favorite groups, and the way Adam Levine sings this...I mean, I know he's no crooner, but goodness, even Buble has nothing on him.
They Can't Take That Away From Me -Ella Fitzgerald
Another Pandora selection that I love. A beautiful love song lost in time.
Let's Fall In Love -Cole Porter
Midnight in Paris got me hooked on this gem. In the movie, Cole Porter sings it as Gil tries to figure out what exactly happened that brought him back to Paris in the 20s. Perhaps if I listen to this song enough, I'll be transported back to those golden years? A girl can dream right.
It Had To Be You -Harry Connick Jr
When Harry Met Sally. This is up there in my list of favorite movies. I can word for word repeat the last scene where Billy Crystal confesses his love for Meg Ryan. We all melt as he wants her to be last person he talks to when he falls asleep at night. And it's not because he's lonely and not because it's New Years eve, it's because when he realized he wants to spend the rest of his life with her, he wanted the rest of his life to start right then and there... There I go again.
Everything -Michael Buble
He's my favorite, and this happens to be my favorite song in the history of ever.
Well, it's like I said, I feel like I'm an old soul at heart, and this music is certainly the way to mine.
